So… the story goes… my grandparents were on their way to visit us. They stopped for gas and it was “back in the day” when an attendant pumped your gas, washed the windshield and even checked the oil!
My grandmother rolled down her window and asked the attendant, “We’re going to Harrisonburg, VA. Are we half way there, yet?”
To which he replied, “I don’t know Ma’am. I don’t know where you’re coming from.”
As you can imagine, my grandmother never lived that down!
Funny as that may be, all too often it’s just the opposite. We know where we’ve been but not where we’re going. We fail to make a decision as to where we want to be… What we want to accomplish. So, how can we create a plan if we don’t know where we’re going?
How will we know when we’re half way there… or even if we reach our destination if we haven’t determined what that destination should be?
Decide what you want this year. Write it down. Think about it every day. Place it so you can read it out loud. Create a vision board, write out your goals, create affirmations… whatever helps you! We’re all different. So, different methods work for different people. Determine what works for you and do it! Every day!
